Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

Meanwhile, a young boy was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.
